Healing With Honey
When you select honey for medicinal use always buy a variety that is produced by an apiary local to your area. Ingesting local pollens found in honey can build resistance to allergies over time. The honey should be "raw", not heated or processed.
Honey Flu Remedy Take a six inch ginger root and slice it. Put it in a non- aluminum pot with about three cups of fresh water. Cover the pot tightly and bring to a simmer. Allow the water to simmer (not boil) for about twenty minutes. Remove from the stove and add the juice of half a lemon, a pinch of cayenne pepper and honey to taste. This is a great remedy for bronchitis and flu.
Honey Throat Syrup Take several cloves of fresh garlic (please don't use the genetically altered, odorless variety. It has lost it's healing virtue). Place the garlic in a blender with the juice of half a lemon. Blend until smooth. Add 1 cup raw honey and blend again. this mixture can be taken as it is in teaspoon doses for a sore throat or strained through a cheese cloth and bottled for later use.
Garlic and Honey Wound Dressing If you have a cut or a wound wash it carefully and then apply chopped or mashed, raw garlic which will kill any bacteria or viruses. Cover the garlic with a slather of honey and apply a clean bandage. The honey will keep the wound anaerobic (without oxygen) so bacteria will be unable to grow in it.
Roasted Garlic Sore Throat Remedy Take unpeeled cloves of fresh, raw garlic and place them in a pan over medium heat (do not use oil). Gently roast the cloves until they are soft to the touch. Remove them from the pan and allow them to cool. Peel and eat.
Ginger Ale This is a good remedy for stomach flu and also makes a tasty beverage. Chop a large ginger root. Place the slices in a non aluminum pot and cover with several cups of fresh, cold water. Bring to a simmer and then simmer for twenty minutes. Remove the pot from the burner and while the liquid is still hot add honey or maple syrup to taste. Allow the mixture to cool. To make the ginger ale fill a glass one half full of the cooled mixture and add sparkling water until the glass is full. Voila!

In a stody of 195 men nd 113 women all with hypertension, and all previous treated with the calcium channel blockers Procardia or Adalat) researchers found that cooking with Sesame Seed Oil normalized their blood pressure with no need for drugs. It is of course important to lose weight, exercise and lower salt intake...but the Sesame Seed oil had a profound impact on the test subjects. Colds and Sore Throat: We have used this solution for the past ten years and have not had the necessity to use any anti-biotics or cold remedies.
At the first sign of a runny nose or sore throat:
1. Pour a small amount of Olive Oil (NOT Pomace) into a small glass.
2. Use an eye dropper and fill it with the Olive Oil. Insert the fully eye dropper into each nostril while holding one’s head back allowing the Olive Oil to run down through the nose and down the throat.
Repeat the process in the other nostril.
3. Wait a hour and repeat the treatment in both nostrils.
4. Wait four hours and repeat the treatment in both nostrils again.
This should rid you of fever and sore throat and loosen phlegm.

Smart Mom!!! It's something just about every woman carries with them. While we may know what's inside our handbags, do you have any idea what's on the outside? Shauna Lake put handbags to the test - for bacteria - with surprising results. You may think twice about where you put your handbag.
Women carry handbags everywhere; from the office to public toilets to the floor of the car. Most women won't be caught without their handbags, but did you ever stop to think about where your handbag goes during the day? 'I drive a school bus, so my handbag has been on the floor of the bus a lot,' says one woman. 'On the floor of my car, and in toilets.' 'I put my handbag in grocery shopping carts, on the floor of the toilet while changing a nappy,' says another woman 'and of course in my home, which should be clean.'
We decided to find out if handbags harbor a lot of bacteria. We learned how to test them at Nelson Laboratories in Salt Lake, and then we set out to test the average woman's handbag.
Most women told us they didn't stop to think about what was on the bottom of their handbag. Most said at home they usually set their handbags on top of kitchen tables and counters where food is prepared. Most of the ladies we talked to told us they wouldn't be surprised if their handbags were at least a little bit dirty. It turns out handbags are so surprisingly dirty, even the microbiologist who tested them was shocked.
Microbiologist Amy Karen of Nelson Labs says nearly all of the handbags tested were not only high in bacteria, but high in harmful kinds of bacteria. Pseudomonas can cause eye infections, staphylococcus aurous can cause serious skin infections, and salmonella and e-coli found on the handbags could make people very sick. In one sampling, four of five handbags tested positive for salmonella, and that's not the worst of it. 'There is fecal contamination on the handbags,' says Amy. Leather or vinyl handbags tended to be cleaner than cloth handbags, and lifestyle seemed to play a role. People with kids tended to have dirtier handbags than those without, with one exception. The handbag of one single woman who frequented nightclubs had one of the worst contaminations of all. 'Some type of feces, or possibly vomit' says Amy.
So the moral of this story - your handbag won't kill you, but it does have the potential to make you very sick if you keep it on places where you eat. Use hooks to hang your handbag at home and in toilets, and don't put it on your desk, a restaurant table, or on your kitchen countertop.
Experts say you should think of your handbag the same way you would a pair of shoes. 'If you think about putting a pair of shoes onto your countertops, that's the same thing you're doing when you put your handbag on the countertops' - your handbag has gone where individuals before you have sneezed, coughed, spat, urinated, emptied bowels, etc! * Olive oil is strongly recommended to be used as a light cooking oil as it benefits the heart. But as a cure for hyperacidity? Swallow one teaspoonful at least 30 minutes before a meal.
* Pineapple? And as a cure? Internal parasites (worms) can be sent scurrying with 2 to 3 slices of delicious pineapple with every meal for at least a week.
* Suffering from severe stomach pain and cramps? What you need is a good home-made antacid. Mix a large slice of cabbage with a carrot, blend in the mixie with some sugar. Drink a glass full of this mix about half an hour before meals and get rid of gastric pain!
* Gingivitis sufferers! Help is at hand – and it is from the common brinjal or eggplant. The brinjal leaves, when boiled in 2 glasses of water for about 10 minutes, and used as a mouthwash, can soothe gingivitis.
* Lemon grass we know, is used to enhance many dishes and gives an exotic flavour. But did you know that it can control diarrhoea? Boil some lemon grass leaves in about 2 glasses of water for 10 minutes. Add sugar and crushed ginger to this decoction and drink 1 cup three times a day.
* When you buy fresh corn, you will find corn hair when you open the covering. Remove these carefully, boil in 1 litre of water. Cool down this concoction and drink it 3 times during the day. It will help to alleviate cystitis or inflammation of the bladder.
* These days herbs like oregano are available fresh. This is a great cough reliever. All you have to do is to boil chopped oregano leaves in water for 15 minutes and use it as you would a cough syrup.
* Guava leaves have many medicinal uses. Boil guava leaves in water for about 15 minutes. The decoction should be consumed at least 3 times a day. The crushed guava leaves can be used like smelling salts when someone has a fainting fit. The nausea subsides when the strong aroma is inhaled. A cup of the guava leaves, when boiled in water and cooled, are an excellent and soothing rinse for sunburn and prickly heat.

A mixed fruit punch could provide a devastating blow against prostate cancer.
The blueberry, grape, raspberry and elderberry cordial rapidly slashes the size of prostate tumours, research shows.
In tests, Blueberry Punch cut the size of tumours by a quarter in two weeks.
Trials are now planned to see whether a daily glass or two of the drink could treat the disease and even prevent it developing in the first place.
Blueberries: Cancer fighting qualities
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in British men, with nearly 35,000 new cases a year and more than 10,000 deaths.
Blueberry Punch is an Australian product but is available for sale on the internet at £16 a bottle.
It also includes a host of other natural ingredients thought to boost health, including green tea, olive leaves, the herb tarragon and the spices turmeric and ginger.
It is thought the ingredients act together to cut inflammation and block a cancer gene.
Dr Jas Singh, who conducted the research on mice at Sydney University, said: "We have undertaken efficacy studies on individual components of Blueberry Punch in the same laboratory setting and found these effective in suppressing cell growth in culture.
"We reasoned that synergistic or additive effects are likely to be achieved when they are combined."
The researchers looked at the effect of Blueberry Punch on both cancer cell cultures in the laboratory and genetically engineered mice with human prostate tumours. After only two weeks of having the syrupy solution added to their drinking water, their tumours had shrunk by 25 per cent, an American Association for Cancer Research conference heard.
Greg Jardine, the drink's inventor, said the results were comparable to drugs used to treat prostate cancer.
Successful human trials would give the punch 'more credibility within the medical and scientific communities', he said, adding: "We would like it to be considered in the same league as a drug."
In Britain, the Prostate Cancer Charity, said the drink had shown 'promising results' but cautioned that the research was still at an early stage.
Debbie Clayton, the charity's information manager, said: "The researchers are planning a small study of 150 men with prostate cancer who will drink three glasses of the juice every day.
"This is a large quantity for men to consume on a regular basis and further studies will be needed to establish the most effective. These studies will need to involve much larger numbers of men and it may be several years before we are able to offer men clear guidance on how the drink may help them.
"In the meantime, we would recommend that men include a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables in their diet, ensuring they get a "rainbow" of colours."
The research was part-funded by Blueberry Punch's Australian manufacturer, Dr Red Nutraceuticals. However, the scientists said they designed and conducted the experiments independently.

Honey proves a better option for childhood cough than OTCs

Hershey, Pa. — Now that the safety and effectiveness of children’s
cough medicines are in question, what can parents do to help their
child deal with a troublesome cough?
A new study by a Penn State College of Medicine
research team found that honey may offer parents
an effective and safe alternative.
The study found that a small dose of buckwheat honey
given before bedtime provided better relief
of nighttime cough and sleep difficulty in children than no treatment or dextromethorphan (DM), a cough suppressant found
in many over-the-counter cold medications.
Honey did a better job reducing the severity, frequency and
bothersome nature of nighttime cough from upper respiratory
infection than DM or no treatment. Honey also showed a positive
effect on the sleep quality of both the coughing child and the
child’s parents.
DM was not significantly better at alleviating symptoms than no treatment. These
findings are especially notable since an FDA advisory board recently recommended that
over-the-counter (OTC) cough and cold medicines not be given to children less than
6 years old because of their lack of effectiveness and potential for side effects.
The results are published by Penn State College of Medicine researchers, led by Ian
Paul, M.D., M.Sc., in this month’s Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
In a previous study published in 2004, Paul and colleagues showed that neither DM nor
diphenhydramine, another common component of cold medications, performed better than a placebo at reducing nighttime cough or improving sleep quality. However, honey has
been used for centuries in some cultures to treat upper respiratory infection symptoms
like cough, and is considered to be safe for children over 12 months old.
Honey has well-established antioxidant and antimicrobial effects, which could explain
its contributions to wound healing. Honey also soothes on contact, which may help
explain its effect on cough as suggested by the World Health Organization.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.
c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains,seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment.About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts)and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.
13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

Does bottled drinking water go bad?
Some states require all food and beverages, including bottled water, to state an expiration date on the label. Most companies that produced bottled water recommend an average storage of two years to help ensure optimal quality. You are also recommended to store bottled water in a cool and dry environment, away from non-food products.
Answering the question of why bottled water has an expiration date, most links state that the water picks up flavors from its packaging. These flavors, combined with warm storage temperatures, contribute to the "generation of musty tastes."
According to the International Bottled Water As sociation, the FDA has not established a shelf life for water, so you can store those bottles indefinitely. As long as the packaging is intact and unopened, you shouldn't need to worry about any type of bacteria or microorganisms growing in the water. "15 Spectacular tricks to teach your body"
1.) If you've got an itch in your throat, scratch your ear. When the nerves in the ear get stimulated, they create a reflex in the throat that causes a muscle spasm, which cures the itch.

6.) If you ate a big meal and you're feeling full as you go to sleep, lay on your left side. That'll keep you from suffering from acid reflux it keeps your stomach lower than your esophagus, which will help keep stomach acid from sliding up your throat.
7.) You can stop a toothache by rubbing ice on the back of your hand, on the webbed area between your thumb and index finger. The nerve pathways there stimulate a part of the brain that blocks pain signals from your mouth.
8.) If you get all messed up on liquor, and the room starts spinning, put your hand on something stable. The reason: Alcohol dilutes the blood in the part of your ear called the cupula, which regulates balance. Putting your hand on something stable gives your brain another reference point, which will help make the world stop spinning.
9.) Stop a nose bleed by putting some cotton on your upper gums right behind the small dent below your nose and press against it hard. Most of the bleeding comes from the cartilage wall that divides the nose, so pressing there helps get it to stop.
10.) Nervous? Slow your heart rate down by blowing on your thumb. The vagus nerve controls your heart rate, and you can calm it down by breathing.
11.) Need to breathe underwater for a while??? Instead of taking a huge breath, HYPERVENTILATE before you go under, by taking a bunch of short breaths. That'll trick your brain into thinking it has more oxygen, and buy you about 10 extra seconds.
12.) You can prevent BRAIN FREEZE by pressing your tongue flat against the roof of your mouth, covering as much surface area as possible. Brain freeze happens because the nerves in the roof of your mouth get extremely cold, so your brain thinks your whole body is cold. It compensates by overheating which causes your head to hurt. By warming up the roof of your mouth, you'll chill your brain and feel better.
13.) If your hand falls asleep, rock your head from side to side. That'll wake your hand or arm up in less than a minute. Your hand falls asleep because of the nerves in your neck compressing so loosening your neck is the cure. If your foot falls asleep, that's governed by nerves lower in the body, so you need to stand up and walk around.
14.) Finally, this one's totally USELESS, but a nice trick. Have someone stick their arm out to the side, straight, palm down. Press down on his wrist with two fingers. He'll resist, and his arm will stay horizontal. Then, have him put his foot on a surface that's half an inch off the ground, like a stack of magazines, and do the trick again. Because his spine position is thrown off, his arm will fall right to his side, no matter how much he tries to resist.
15.) Got the hiccups? Press thumb and second finger over your eyebrows until the hiccups are over usually shortly.

EAT YOUR BEANS! -- Colorado researchers say antioxidant-rich beans, long touted for nutritional benefits, also may help fight cancer and diabetes. The scientists are investigating the antioxidant properties of 15 varieties of beans that may help fight cancer and possibly protect against diabetes. The project, funded with $187,000 from the Bean Health Alliance, may serve as a model for food and crop research that can be used by farmers to determine what varieties of crops to plant and by consumers to decide what foods to eat. "Antioxidants are found to be important to people for fighting cancer and also for battling diabetes," said Henry Thompson, professor and director of the Cancer Prevention Laboratory at Colorado State University. "We know that there is an association between cell oxidation and diabetes, because we have seen this behavior as part of the pathology of diabetes."
EAT YOUR WALNUTS TOO! -- Scientists from Pennsylvania State University report eating walnuts can help reduce inflammatory markers for cardiovascular disease. They found an effect on C-reactive protein and harmful plaque adhesion molecules, they report in the "Journal of Nutrition." Many people look to fish, such as salmon, for healthful omega-3 fatty acids, notes investigator Penny Kris-Etherton, distinguished professor of nutrition. "The omega-3 fatty acids in walnuts were converted to the same omega-3 fatty acids found in marine sources and had a similar effect on inflammation," she says. "Reducing inflammation can help decrease the process of arteriosclerosis - the development and build-up of plaque in the arteries." She says a walnut-rich diet may protect against multiple heart disease risk factors, rather than just one, thus potentially having a greater impact on coronary health.

S&A HEALTH REPORT: The Most Painful Disease Imaginable ? And How to Cut Your Risk of Getting it by Spending $160

I was working in the walk-in clinic one day, and this old couple was in my exam room. On the chart, the triage nurse had simply written: "Severe pain for seemingly forever." I couldn't easily track down the nurse to confirm this so-called "chief complaint," so I went into the room without more information. There, in the side chair, was an 84-year-old man and, in the exam chair, his young bride of 73. He was slouched over with a cheap baseball cap of umpteen years hiding his eyes and face. By the way he moved I could tell it took him a long time to get to the clinic. She was tilted to one side, moaning and rocking. The speed with which she moved confirmed that this trip had taken them both forever.
Ultimately, I was able to see on the right side of her body a zone of blisters and redness characteristic of her disease, known as shingles. This outbreak was right along her waist, where shirt and pants probably rub off a little of skin over the course of a day.
It turns out that shingles comes from the chicken pox virus, which most of us get as children. It is also called herpes zoster and, once exposed as children, we develop immunity to it, although the virus deviously regresses into and hides in our nervous system. There, the virus hibernates within the dorsal root ganglia in our spinal column. But, once we are older and our immune system is weakened or upset ? WHAM ? the most painful disease you could ever imagine crawls out of the spine, down the nerves, and attacks your skin. Sadly, the virus can do this over and over. Pain, regression, pain, regression, and so on. The skin rash and blisters this produces are truly the most uncomfortable disease you could ever have. It hurts when you move and it hurts when you are touched. People report pain of 10-out-of-10 simply when their clothes brush their skin. Other people report excruciating pain just sitting quietly. Many people have committed suicide over the pain.
The worse part about it, though, is that about 20% of those who get it never have regression and are stuck with perpetual and excruciating pain that lasts months, usually years. This is known as post-herpetic neuralgia and was why this sweet, old couple was there in my office. All he wanted was pain medicine, but there is no good pain medicine for this type of agony. Antiviral medicines don't work well and most pain medicines are ineffective for unknown reasons. He simply wanted help to make her pain-free. But there was little we could do. I got teary-eyed watching them leave the clinic. They hobbled down the hall holding hands and were going to try a cream made from hot chili peppers (but that's another story). There was little hope for people with zoster until last month.
Miraculously, just two months ago the FDA approved a vaccine for shingles and a panel recommended it for people aged at least 60 years. The vaccine is called Zostavax and it clearly cuts down both the pain and the actual occurrence of the disease. In a large, five-and-a-half year study of 38,500 men and women across 22 sites in the VA system, the vaccine was found safe as compared to a placebo. Of course, the usual complaints from a vaccine occurred: redness, swelling, pain, and irritation at the site of injection. Otherwise, this vaccine appears to be quite safe, and it reduces the pain and occurrence of the disease by at least 50%!
The good news is that the vaccine costs only $160. Relative to the pain and suffering this disease causes? this could be the best health- care money ever spent.
However, not every insurance company pays for it ? although Medicare Part D has agreed to cover it with the usual co-pays. As it turns out, this vaccine will reduce pain and suffering in close to 300,000 people every year. This is money well spent.
When it comes to shingles... What do I do?
1. I stay away from children that have chicken pox. If I see a little kid with bumps all over his body I run the other way.
2. I will get the vaccine once I turn 55, but I will try to get it sooner than that.

PROBLEMS WITH TICKS? TRY THIS REMEDY-- I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great, because it works in those places where it's sometimes difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc.
Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20), the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away. This technique has worked every time I've used it (and in KY, that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me.
Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers. She used this method and immediately called me back to say, "It worked!"

SUN TEA CAN MAKE YOU ILL: According to Snopes, the website that investigates urban legends for authenticity: According to the Centers for Disease Control, using the sun's rays to make tea can facilitate the growth of bacteria. Tea steeped in a jar on your porch won't get any hotter than 130° Fahrenheit, about the temperature of a really hot bath and not nearly hot enough to kill nasties lurking either in the water or on the tea itself. For that, water needs to be heated to 195° for three to five minutes.
Alcaligenes viscolactis, a bacteria commonly found in water, consequently turns up in sun tea. While the caffeine in black tea will help prevent that microbe from flourishing for a few hours, its effects won't last beyond that. Herbal teas are an even worse bet for brewing in sunlight because they tend to lack caffeine, which means even that barrier to Alcaligenes viscolactis turning your summertime drink into its own breeding ground is missing.
Better to brew tea the more usual way with boiling water than to risk giving up any of your summer to illness caused by what you drank. Sent by Mary jean Hoover.

Admittedly, not everything that's good for you tastes good. That's why cinnamon is so great. Dr. Wright first talked about the health benefits of this tasty spice a few years ago, and research continues to support it.
According to the latest cinnamon study to cross my desk, researchers in Malaysia found that cinnamon can lower blood sugar levels in people with Type II diabetes.
This finding backs up previous research, which has shown that cinnamon extract mimics insulin action in cells. And a USDA study involving 60 Type II diabetics showed that 1 gram of cinnamon daily can improve the management of blood sugar levels, triglyceride levels, and cholesterol levels. (One gram of cinnamon is less than half a teaspoon.)

It’s from a company called Sambazon and it is called Acai. A bruise (also called a contusion) happens when blood vessels are damaged as the result of a blow to the skin. Bruises can be flat and bluish or purplish (caused by blood leaking out into the top layers of skin) or raised (blood leaks into tissues as well). Bruises change color as they heal, reflecting what is going on beneath the skin. Initially, bruises are reddish, thanks to the blood trapped under the skin. Within a few days, the hemoglobin in the blood begins to break down, causing a predictable series of color changes. After a few days, the bruise appears blue or purple. By about a week, the bruise changes to a greenish color, then a few days later to a yellowish one. Bruises generally heal after 2-3 weeks. Blood vessels become more fragile as we age and we bruise more easily. Kids may have more bruises, but they also tend to do more risky things that result in bruising. The health benefits of peroxide. "I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little O'L bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of dollars. 1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe or shower.) No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. 2. Let your toothbrushes soak a cup peroxide to keep them free of germs. 3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters. 4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria. 5. I had fungus on my feet for years - until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry. 6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide. 7. Put two capfuls into a douche to prevent yeast infections. For chronic yeast infections, use once or twice a week. 8. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will. 9. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into tissue. 10. If you have a terrible toothache and can not get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly. 11. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages, but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually so it's not a drastic change. 12. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections. 13. I was diagnosed on November 9th with a brain tumor,
and was on the operating table November 18th at West Penn Hospital. I
smoked from 1-2 packs of cigarettes a day. While in pre-op, when the
anesthesiologist came in to ask his questions, I told him to tell me while I was
under that I would not smoke anymore. He said he never heard of that but
said he would. When I was taken into the OR he was there and I reminded
him again. As I was going under he was telling me I didn't want to smoke
anymore. It worked!!!! I have not had the desire to smoke at all and
I had tried all the other methods to quit--pills, patches, gum, lozenges, cold
turkey etc. What a wonderful hospital West Penn is. The
staff, from Drs to cleaning people, are just wonderful. The food was
delicious and the surroundings beautiful. It was not an unpleasant
experience at all, except for my bald head!! My hair is coming in quite
well and it is brown. I was afraid it might come back grey.
I hope you can share my story with your readers,
not that I recommend getting a brain tumor to quit smoking, but you never know
when you might need anesthesia and it is worth a try.
