JEANETTE GARKO SENT ALONG THESE FASCINATING FACTS
ABOUT ANIMALS, INSECTS, BIRDS, ETC:
RABBITS love liquorice - but it is very bad for them because they cannot digest sugars.
DALMATIONS are the only breed of dog that gets gout (because they are the only mammals, other than humans, which produce uric acid).
SLUGS have four noses - well actually a pair of gills for breathing and a pair of rhinopores (chemosensory organs) used for smelling.
HONEYBEES have hairs on their eyes to help them collect pollen.
The left leg of a CHICKEN is more tender than the right one, which it uses most, therefore increasing muscle development.
The sperm of a MOUSE is longer than the sperm of an elephant.
Mice are highly promiscuous and need particularly large testes to keep up with demand.
More human deaths have been attributed to FLEAS than all the wars ever fought.
As carriers of the bubonic plague, fleas were responsible for killing onethird of the population of Europe in the 14th century.
A CAT uses its whiskers to determine if a space is too small to squeeze through.
The whiskers act as feelers or antennae, helping the animal to judge the precise width of any passage.
GOLDFISH lose their colour if kept in dim light. Much like humans getting a tan, they need sunlight to keep their pigment.
ALBATROSSES have a wing span of up to 14ft and need to land only once every couple of years to breed.
They can travel hundreds of thousands of miles each flight.
Certain Chinese and American ALLIGATORS can survive the winter by freezing their heads in ice, leaving their nose out to breath for months on end.

OF THE EARTH RISING BEHIND THE MOON...TAKEN

FROM THE MOON.

WHICH TIME OF DAY SHOULD YOU PURCHASE

GASOLINE TO GET THE MOST FOR YOUR MONEY?
1. Fill up your car or truck in the morning when the temperature is still
cool
.  Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried
below ground; and the colder the ground, the denser the gasoline. When it
gets warmer gasoline expands, so if you're filling up in the afternoon or in
the evening, what should be a gallon is not exactly a gallon.  In the
petroleum business, the specific gravity and temperature of the fuel
(gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products) are
significant.  Every truckload that we load is temperature-compensated so
that the indicated gallon age is actually the amount pumped.  A one-degree
rise in temperature is a big deal for businesses, but service stations don't
have temperature compensation at their pumps.

2.
If a tanker truck is filling the station's tank at the time you want to
buy gas, do not fill up
; most likely dirt and sludge in the tank is being
stirred up when gas is being delivered, and you might be transferring that
dirt from the bottom of th eir tank into your car's tank.

3. Fill up when your gas tank is half-full (or half-empty), because the more
gas you have in your tank the less air there is and gasoline evaporates
rapidly, especially when it's warm.  (Gasoline storage tanks have an
internal floating 'roof' membrane to act as a barrier between the gas and
the atmosphere, thereby minimizing evap oration.)

4.
If you look at the trigger you'll see that it has three delivery
settings: slow, medium and high.  When you're filling up do not squeeze the
trigger of the nozzle to the high setting.  You should be pumping at the
slow setting,
thereby minimizing vapors created while you are pumping. Hoses
at the pump are corrugated; the corrugations act as a return path for vapor
recovery from gas that already has been me tered.  If you are pumping at the
high setting, the agitated gasoline contains more vapors, which is being
sucked back into the underground tank so you're getting less gas for your
money. Hope this will help ease your 'pain at the pump'.

MYSPACE: A Must Read for All

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ ALL OF THIS
and HAVE CHILDREN READ IT TOO!
After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab
a snack and get on-line. She logged on
under her screen name ByAngel213.
She checked her Buddy List and saw
GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message:

ByAngel213: Hi. I'm glad you are on! I thought
someone was following me home today.
It was really weird!

GoTo123: LOL You watch too much TV. Why would
someone be following you? Don't you live in a
safe neighborhood?

ByAngel213: Of course I do. LOL I guess
it was my imagination cuz' I didn't see anybody
when I looked out.

GoTo123: Unless you gave your name
out on-line. You haven't done that have you?

ByAngel213: Of course not. I'm not stupid you know.

GoTo123: Did you have a softball game
after school today?

ByAngel213: Yes and we won!!

GoTo123: That's great! Who did you play?

ByAngel213: We played the Hornets. LOL.
Their uniforms are so gross! They look like bees. LOL

GoTo123: What is your team called?

ByAngel213: We are the Canton Cats. We have tiger
paws on our uniforms. They are really cool.

GoTo1 23: Did you pitch?

ByAngel213: No I play second base. I got to go.
My homework has to be done before my parents
get home. I don't want them mad at me. Bye!

GoTo123: Catch you later. Bye

Meanwhile.......GoTo123 went to the member menu
and began to search for her profile. When it came
up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took
out a pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far.
Her name: Shannon
Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985
Age: 13
State where she lived: North Carolina
Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and
going to the mall.

Besides this information, he knew she lived
in Canton because she had just told him.
He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m.
every afternoon until her parents came home from work.
He knew she played softball on Thursday afternoons on the
school team, and the team was named the Canton Cats.
Her favorite number 7 was printed on her jersey.
He knew she was in the eighth grade at the
Canton Junior High School . She had told him
all this in the conversations they had on- line.

He had enough information to find her now.
Shannon didn't tell her parents about the incident
on the way home from the ballpark that day.
She didn't want them to make a scene and s
top her from walking home from the softball games.
Parents were always overreacting and hers
were the worst. It made her wish she was not an
only child. Maybe if she had brothers and sisters,
her parents wouldn't be so overprotective.

By Thursday, Shannon had forgotten about the
footsteps following her. Her game was in
full swing when suddenly she felt someone
staring at her. It was then that the memory came back.

She glanced up from her second base position
to see a man watching her closely. He was leaning
against the fence behind first base and he smiled
when she looked at him. He didn't look
scary and she quickly dismissed the sudden fear she had felt.

After the game, he sat on a bleacher
while she talked to the coach. She noticed
his smile once again as she walked past him.
He nodded and she smiled back.

He noticed her name on the back of her shirt.
He knew he had found her. Quietly,
he walked a safe distance behind her.
It was only a few blocks to Shannon's
home, and once he saw where she lived
he quickly returned to the park to get his car.

Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to
eat until the time came to go to Shannon's
house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and
sat there until time to make his move.

Shannon was in her room later that evening
when she heard voices in the living room.
"Shannon, come here," her father called.
He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why.

She went into the room to see the man
from the ballpark sitting on the sofa.
"Sit down," her father began, "this man
has just told us a most interesting story about you."

Shannon sat back. How could he tell her
parents anything? She had never
seen him before today!

"Do you know who I am, Shannon ?" the man asked.

"No," Shannon answered.

"I am a police officer and your
online friend, GoTo123."

Shannon was stunned. "That's impossible!
GoTo is a kid my age! He's 14. And he lives in Michigan !"

The man smiled. "I know I told you
all that, but it wasn't true. You see,
Shannon , there are people on-line who
pretend to be kids; I was one of them.

But while others do it to injure kids and
hurt them, I belong to a group of parents
who do it to protect kids from predators.
I came here to find you to teach you how
dangerous it is to talk to people on-line.

You told me enough about yourself to
make it easy for me to find you. You
named the school you went to, the name
of your ball team and the position you played.
The number and name on your jersey just made
finding you a breeze."

Shannon was stunned. "You mean
you don't live in Michigan ?"

He laughed. "No, I live in Raleigh . It made you
feel safe to think I was so far away, didn't it?"

She nodded.

"I had a friend whose daughter was
like you. Only she wasn't as lucky.
The guy found her and murdered her
while she was home alone.

Kids are taught not to tell anyone when
they are alone, yet they do it all the time on-line.

The wrong people trick you into giving out
information a little here and there on-line.
Before you know it, you have told them
enough for them to find you without
even realizing you have done it.

I hope you've learned a lesson from this
and won't do it again.

Tell others about this so they will be safe too?"

"It's a promise!" Sent by Mary Jean Hoover

Yesterday, My youngest daughter Halle who is 4,was
rushed to the emergency room by her father for being severely lethargic
and incoherent.

He was called to her school by the school secretary for being "very VERY
sick." He told me that when he arrived that Halle was barely sitting in
the chair. She couldn't hold her own head up and when he looked into her
eyes, she couldn't focus them.

He immediately called me after he scooped her up and rushed her to the
ER. When we got there, they ran blood test after blood test and did
x-rays, every test imaginable. Her white blood cell count was normal,
nothing was out of the ordinary. The ER doctor told us that he had done
everything that he could do so he was sending her to Saint Francis for
further test. Right when we were leaving in the ambulance, her teacher
had come to the ER and after
questioning Halle's classmates, we found out that she had licked hand
sanitizer off her hand. Hand sanitizer, of all things. But it makes sense.

These days they have all kinds of different scents and when you have a
curious child, they are going to put all kinds of things in their
mouths. When we arrived at Saint Francis, we told the ER doctor there to
check her blood alcohol level, which, yes we did get weird looks from it
but they did it. The results were her blood alcohol level was 85% and
this was 6 hours after we first took her. There's no telling what it
would have been if we would have tested it at the first ER.

Since then, her school and a few surrounding schools have taken this out
of the classrooms of all the lower grade classes but what's to stop
middle and high schoolers too?

After doing research off the internet, we have found out that it only
takes 3 squirts of the stuff to be fatal in a toddler. For her blood
alcohol level to be so high was to compare someone her size to drinking
something 120 proof.

So please PLEASE don't disregard this because I don't ever want anyone
to go thru what my family and I have gone thru. Today was a little
better but not much.

Please send this to everyone you know that has children or are having
children. It doesn't matter what age. I just want people to know the
dangers of this.

Thank you
Lacey Butler and family

So often, we get caught up in a debate over political semantics and end up ignoring
the hard-shell realities of what we're talking about. According to
ImmigrationCounters.com, here are some of the realities that
Flake-Gutierrez would airbrush out of the picture:
Number of illegal aliens in the country
20,807,645
Money wired to Mexico City since January, 2006
$22,213,001,672.00
Cost of Social Security services for illegal aliens since 1996
$397,450,739,563.00
Number of children of illegal aliens in public schools
3,958,789
Cost of illegal aliens in K-12 since 1996:
$13, 965,063,431.00
Number of illegal aliens incarcerated
332,594
Cost of incarcerations since 2001
$1,398,127,429.00
Number of illegal alien fugitives
642,799
Skilled jobs taken by illegal aliens
9,872,838

Figures can trick your eyes. Take particular note that
items 2,3,5, and 7 reflect BILLION not millions of dollars --
and that item 3 exceeds one-third of a TRILLION dollars.
Can you imagine how much it will cost taxpayers if we triple the
number of illegals entering this country?
The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" in a casual manner,
think about whether you want the "politicians" spending your tax money.

This is GOOD info - Thought I'd share.
Some people are evidently going
to the extreme.

A woman said her son found his license
plate missing so he called the
police to file a report.
They told him people were stealing the
plates to get free gas. Given
the rise in gas prices, people have taken to stealing license plates,
putting them on their car, then getting gas and running. The gas
station will have "your" license plate # and you
could be in trouble for "pump and run." Check
your car periodically to be sure you still have a plate.
If you should find it missing, file a
report immediately!!! Keep an eye on your license plate! Make sure you
always know it's there! When the license
plate is reported as the
"drive
off vehicle", it's YOU they contact! Be aware!!!!
Be aware of your license plates, most of
us never look to see if the plates are there
or not.

11 year-old girl shoots two

home intruders

5-2-07   --  Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23,

and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would

easily overpower a home alone eleven year old

Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things:

they were in Montana, and Patricia had been a clay

shooting champion since she was nine.  Patricia

was in her upstairs bedroom when the two men

broke through the front door of the house.  She

quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his

12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor

only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast

of buck shot from the girl's knee crouch aim.

He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs,

he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered

out into the street where he bled to death before medical

help could arrive.     It was found out later that Resindez

was armed with a stolen .45 caliber handgun he

took from another home invasion robbery. The victim,

50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky

as he died from stab

wounds to the chest.

Patricia staved off a robbery and potential rape

because her parents taught her how to use a gun.

Her parents just didn't hide a gun in the house

and not educate her on the power that a firearm

provides. Ignorance can be deadly, but fortunately

for this Montana family, knowledge was power.

CATHOLIC BASHERS SPARED IMUS TREATMENT

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on the way
Catholic bashers are treated as compared to Don Imus:
Two years ago, Penn Jillette (of the comedy team Penn and Teller) went
on Showtime calling Mother Teresa Mother Fking Teresa and called the
nuns who worked with her fking cts. Showtime is owned by Viacom and
that is why I wrote to its chief, Sumner Redstone, to register a complaint. He
wrote back extolling the merits of artistic freedom and tolerance. Last
year, on Viacom-owned CBS radio, Jillette said Mother Teresa had this weird
kink that I think was sexual, compared the saintly nun to Charles Manson and
said she got her [sexual] kicks watching people suffer and die. Again, nothing
was done about this.
In 2005, Bill Maher went on HBO at the time of the death of Pope John Paul II
and said, For those who could not make the funeral, the Vatican has asked
that in lieu of flowers, just stop touching your dk. He also said that the whole
story of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the Resurrection was grafted from
paganism; he ended by mocking the death of the pope and the upcoming
conclave. The letter I received from HBO said that its a free country,
and people are free to say silly thingseven on HBO.

Right before Easter, the Catholic League protested the chocolate Jesus
with his genitals exposed that was to be shown in the art gallery of the
Roger Smith Hotel in midtown Manhattan (located on street level, the
public was invited to eat him). Air America radio co-host Cenk Uygur,
writing on The Huffington Post, said, So is the argument that Jesus
